Google Web Master Tools
This tool si designed for the SEO experts through which one can check the performance of the site in search engine. get suggestions from google if any major error is found, know if the site is safe or is
pushed in spam, target international location, apply for change of address and of course, submit all the pages of the site in the google server.
It is available at: www.google.com/webmastertools
Note: Before the sitemap can be submitted firstly, add and verify the ownership of the site in webmastertools.
Process:
======
1. Login at webmastertools using gmail account.
2. Add site---> give the website address in the format shown (use'www' only if your site has it) ----> continue.
3. Click on any of the verification method like 'html tag'
4. Copy the meta tag shown and place it in the head section of the homepage of the site, in blogger and wordpress however it can be placed in the template file ---> save the file.
5. Come back to webmastertools and click on 'verify"
Note:-
If the login Id of webmastertools is same like blogger you will find that your site is by default added and verified too, so just submit the sitemap
To submit the sitemap file, click on the verified site ----->Sitemaps--->add/test sitemaps--->give the location of the sitemap file --->submit.
Note: Every time new page is created or existing urls are edited the sitemap file must be created again ---> reploaded and resubmitted for general websites however for blogger and wordpress (Posts are published) it
is automized.
Like google webmastertools the activity above must be repeated for other search engine's webmastertools too but for blogger and wordpress google account is sufficient as the other search engines get the
data through the APIs.
To find out the major html error in the website go to -----> search appearnce ---> Html improvements----->
To set the change of website of the website on the top click on setting arrow marks change of address
To target the speacif search engine of google with regard to country under search traffic------> click on internationn targetting ---> country -------sellect the country from the list.
